Music with Mr M

We have been learning about different instruments with Mr M and exploring the sounds the instruments make.

Robert could share that he had some egg shakers.

Madison shared that she had a hand drum.

Zoe shared that she had a triangle.

Noah shared that he had a large bongo.

Isis shared that she had castanets.

Datsyn shared that she had maracas.

Josie shared that she had a rainmaker.

James shared that he had djembe.

We started playing our instruments quietly. As Mr M raised his hands higher we played our instruments louder.

The children had to put their instruments away in the correct place using the pictures to help.

We had a great time exploring with Mr M!

Collaborative maths

On Friday Room 20 and Room 21 had a collaborative maths time as well as reading time. We were practising really hard to write our numbers the correct way.

We practised our maths in lots of fun ways and we really enjoyed our learning together.

Secrets

Today we talked to Constable Ross about good secrets and bad secrets. We watched some videos and decided if they were good secrets or bad secrets.

We thought some were good secrets.we talked about how good secrets are surprises like birthday parties and they make us feel excited or happy.

Some videos were bad secrets to keep. We talked about how to get help and who we could talk to if someone told us to keep a bad secret. Here secrets don't make us feel good.

Constable Ross tried to trick Noah. He pretended to be Dad's friend trying to get Noah to come to his car.

Lucas gave Noah some advice. He said don't do it. Noah said no and he had to ask his Mum or Dad.

Constable Ross pretended to be a stranger who needed help to find his puppy. Madi said no. Madi could not be tricked. She said we had to ask Mum or Dad first.

Zara had to wait for her Mum at the gate. A stranger stops in a car and says he is going to give Zara a ride home.
Sophie had to give Zara some advice. Zara said no I'm going to tell my Dad. If the man keeps talking to you go back to the school and tell a teacher.

James pretended he was at the beach with Mum and Dad. Some big kids from school came over and want you to go play up in the sand hills and eat lollies. James said no.

He was going to check with Mum or Dad or play where Mum and Dad can see me.

Well done to Mehdi and Pixie

Well done to Mehdi who got the first Principals Award for Effort! Mehdi is always on the carpet reading for learning and is always making good choices.

Pixie is a Bucket Filler in Room 21! Well done Pixie - you always help to tidy up our classroom.

Fun with our Buddies!!

On Thursday we headed out onto the field with our buddies and split up into 5 groups. Mr Foreman called 1 letter at a time and as a team we had to work to make the capital letter the fastest. At the end we raced to get into a line of girls and a line of boys but we had to be in a pattern with a little buddy between 2 big buddies. The boys were the slowest so they had to do press ups!!

Buddy Fun on PhotoPeach
 Thanks Room 9!!

Our walk to the post box

Today as part of our keeping ourselves safe and our literacy, we posted letters that we had written using our home address. On the way we saw the person who might deliver our letters!

On the way there and back we used our number skills to read as many numbers as we could find.

We also saw lots of beautiful flowers. Some were being watered And we left tracks on the ground when we walked through the water.

We also noticed that even though it was day time the moon was still in the sky!

Thank you to the parents who came on our walk with us!
